Platform security is extended in Symbian OS v9, providing control over the capabilities of applications installed on the devices. This is done to ensure the integrity of the phones and the network, while still enabling an open environment for third party applications.


Integrity of the network, my *ss. It's about revenue integrity.

But I'll be very happy to be proven wrong.

maybe this has to do with that deal with symantec, or the viruses that have come out affecting series 60. makes sense that carriers would request something like this to stop a virus on their network? makes me wonder about Big Brother, too 😎
