Great they updated something that no one uses. Good for them! They can update it all they want it will never compete with Google drive until they offer office 360 for free.

In what way do they need to offer their (completely unrelated) office suite to make their Cloud highly useful? I use mine all the time, and prefer it over GDrive and Dropbox. Much cleaner and easier to use.

Basically it is cloud storage. Requires a windows account to share things with people.

GDrive has cloud storage. A majority of people have a gmail addy to share files with. It also includes Google Docs for free which is perfect for document collaboration.

Why would any one choose onedrive over Google drive?

As a side note all google fiber subscribers (which I am) get a TB of storage as part of their internet package.

Ok, so we agree they are in most ways identical. Both are cloud storage. Both require a (Microsoft / Google) account. Both have the ability to share and collaborate on projects. Both offer a free suite of office web apps (Office / GDocs).

Basically what you're saying is, more people use Google, so no one should ever use anything else? Because that's a really lame argument. Cool that they give you a TB of space for using Fiber (and super lucky you that you're in one of the immensely limited locations that's even possible). I don't even know what I'm going to do with 130GB of free OneDrive space I currently have, but its nice that its there all the same.

Given that One Drive is built into MS Office 2013, it is widely used by users of that software, especially on college campuses.
