450 better than 1900?

so is the frequenzy better as it goes up or lower, like is 850 better the 1900?

The lower the frequency, the farther it can go with less power and it also travels through things better then higher frequencies do.

Really? Ever try to use a hand held CB radio (27Mhz) from inside a car? You'll be lucky to transmit past the hood of the car. While a FRS or GMRS (462/467Mhz) radio will work better (in most cases) even given the same 4 watts of power (on GMRS). Ever hear of a Faraday cage? It's true that most long range radio communication is done at the very low range but this is often not as reliable as line of sight since the long range communication is often dependant on weather and even solar activity.

The other disadvantage to lower frequencies is the need for bigger antennas. Higher frequencies can use a smaller antenna and be as efficient. But think how kool that RAZR would look with a 6+" antenna. 😉

Bottom line, I don't think 450Mhz vs...

450 gets more distance but much less quality in comparison to 1900mhz band

My understanding:

Lower freqs: more range (fewer cell towers needed), better building penetration, slower data speeds(all else being equal)

Higher freqs: Less range, worse building penetration, higher data speeds(all else being equal)
