AT&T to Buy DirecTV for $48.5 Billion
Wow this stinks
I have both AT&T and Directv and from my experience they both have great customer service! I am stoked for this deal as I believe AT&T is going to take their service to the next level with offering and packages!
Yeah I'm pretty excited. DirecTV is pretty awesome, but Uverse with the channel line up and pricing is a better deal. If they can take what wins with Uverse and put it to DirecTV then I'm sure customers of both will love it.
But, what happens when these two seperate entities out for the same goal of growing profit margins eliminate more choices by merging?
I fully expect you to be crying a different tune once this deal is said and done. There will be more bundling of services which will dissolve many of the services you currently enjoy at this moment through different companies. Are you prepared for this?
In short, becareful what you wish for.
This is not an opinion or a guess. It is a warning by way of observation through 35 years of witnessed experience. The onl...

I've had ALL 4 major carriers since 97', for my money AT&T works the best and gives me what I want, VALUE and QUALITY! You can complain all you want but the fact of the matter is people will pay for quality.
Actually, I'm pretty much happy about everything in my life. I'm 53. Very successful. Have a beautiful wife and two kids on their way to being equally successful. And I pride myself on being a consumer advocate.Every quote you posted about me is obviously pretensive since I have never made such comments. I give charitable contributions to my church without compaints. I don't eat cereal. I don't hire prostitutes. And if I complain about paying too much for gas, I think I'm part of the extreme majority. In fact, the telecommunications is no different than the oil industry. It dictates through pac money to our governments to con...

I'm not sure of anywhere in my post that B-sides should hate AT&T. Please review my thread and point out where I claim that B-sides needs to hate AT&T personally. I believe I said having AT&T and DirecTV as seperate entities was not a bad thing. Having them merge is not in the best interest of the consumers. B-sides likes both and the reason is that both are operating separately with their own offerings. Becoming one, will greatly reduce the choices he has been enjoying because AT&T will bundle heavily which will eliminate these choices.
If you're going to play the sarcasm card, make sure you know how to play the game first. You didn't even cheat correctly.
