The fact that Sprint and T-Mobile own just 15% of the low band spectrum in the US, yet they aren't allowed to merge with each other is laughable.

Well put...I'd say they fact that they can't is just an example of AT&T's and Verizon's lobby exerting their influence. But it looks like with this ruling, and the recent articles about representatives not necessarily against a T-Mobile-Sprint merger...there may be a possibility...

True...But remember Sprint and Tmobile have both had the exact same opportunities to bid on every one of the same auctions as Verizon and AT&T. Yet on every single auction, their bidders in a way said "Its OK! We are good. We don't need anymore spectrum!"

And lets not forget that both Sprint and T-Mobile are owned by much larger companies with very deep pockets! I find it laughable that they try to play the poor me role all the time when they have every opportunity to upgrade but use tactics like this to fight off their competition.

Umm, let's see when the last auction occurred Sprint and TMO didn't have much in the way of funds to compete with Verizon and AT&T. You could say TMO had an opportunity with DT supporting them but they were always in a sell mode with them and didn't change much until AT&T's failed merger that gave them spectrum and cash.

They put their money where their mouths are with purchasing spectrum, upgrading their networks and customer service.
To me I would rather pay a few extra dollars each month, and it is only a few extra for my family plan compared to T-Mobile, to get the quality of service and network that I now enjoy.
