It may seem frivilous but the point is that the electric company has the right to use peoples land for FREE so they can put up their electric towers. It's called a utility easement and there's nothing a property owner can do about it. That's all well and good but I don't think they should turn around and sell rights to Sprint or any other company and make money off something they get for free. This may not seem like a big a deal now but if this is allowed to go on what's to stop them from going further and selling rights to the use of their towers to anybody for anything?! Before you know it the electric company will be making all kinds of money and the poor property owner is just sitting their paying taxes on his land that the electric company gets to not only use for free but to make money off the land as well without paying one penny of the property taxes. Is that fair?
