I like the SYNC Better...

To me the SYNC looks much nicer than either of these phone. And besides being more aesthetically pleasing, the Sync also benefits from a better key pad and better directional pad as well. Also, the at&t branded SYNC was updated to support Video Share as well (the Cingular SYNC will not). All in all, the SYNC and the A717 operate exactly the same. And with the available external music keys, better key pad & better directional pad, I'll stick w/ the SYNC. And BTW, its like $100 cheaper.

Though the sync has a better directional and button interface, the reception and battery are superior on the a717. And though not apples to apples, the a727 in my opinion had better video quality on cingular video especially when out of 3g area.

I bought the A727 about a month or so ago, I happen to like it, sure its small, but thats the reason I bought it, I wanted something small to carry light, use opera mini and some irc aps which work pretty good and because of the size of the kb does take some getting used to. I use this phone when I don't feel like lugging around my Cingular 8525.

I also think when a person is buying a small candybar type phone, one has to include limitations due to size into the picture. This is to include screen size, kb feel, battery durablity (which was better then I thought).

My kids have att branded sync's, I find them a great phone for the price, and its nice to be able to share adaptors.
