New challenge for hackers
I estimate when the first phone is released with this software, some hacker somewhere in the world will have it cracked within... lets say, 2 days.

that will happen any ways. I mean for the more common theft. it will work a lot better

But since the technology hasn't been released yet, you don't know if it will really deter common theft or not do you? I can certainly think of some reasons why I think this is much more bad than good, but we'll have to wait and see what the actual implementation looks like first.
