Vzw in Cinci

Was just in Cincinnati this weekend. Verizon had pretty great LTE coverage, even deep in some building basements, where there was not even a glimmer of Sprint or TMobile 2G, and some mediocre AT&T LTE.

Seems kind of odd that Verizon would want more spectrum in Cincy, and why would they buy this GSM carrier instead of AT&T buying it? Seems like Cinci Bell must have been desperate.

If t-mobile is so bad their why didn't T-mobile buy them instead of someone that has a strong presence?

Cincinnati was one of three major markets where SpectrumCo-Cox did not hold any AWS spectrum. So, VZW gained nothing in Cincinnati from that transaction a few years ago. VZW wants Cincinnati Bell Wireless for its 20 MHz of AWS spectrum, meaning that VZW can up its AWS holdings in the market to 30-40 MHz.
