Desperation? You mean like Apple releasing the iPad Mini because lost cost Android tablets were outselling the iPad?

Android is free to OEM's, thus no one is going to pay to make a Windows tablet if they can make an Android tablet free of charge.

It's only common sense to not shoot yourself in the foot by making your product more expensive than it needs to be,

Steve Jobs spends years talking about how Apple will never make a 7 inch tablet because 7 inch tablets are stupid, then Android steps in and offers excellent 7 inch tablets which outsell the iPad, and so Apple responds with the iPad Mini and everyone says 'oh wow, a brilliant innovation, Apple has done it again'.....

But Microsoft finally wises up and decides to offer Windows free to OEM's to put on phones and tablets, in order to make it easier to compete with Android and it's 'oh they're desperate'

I'm so sick of how everything Apple does is spinned as being brilliant and innovate, even when are they doing is taking ideas from their competitors, but when Microsoft does the same thing Apple does it's 'oh they're desperate'...
