I'm glad HTC has added SD capabilities back, but can they please give us the removable battery back.

I have friends who bring extra batteries to the field with them for the Samsung smartphones because we do not have any plug ins. Just so they can have a phone that lasts a 3 days

In our review, we found it to have excellent battery life. It also supports the newest QuickCharge.

I don't think it's realistic to have a removable battery in a phone like this. The high-quality, solid feeling of the unibody metal construction is one of the major selling points for this and the iPhone. That construction pretty much rules out a removable cover.

For example, the One max has a removable cover. It feels flimsy and cheap, the cover doesn't always fit well, and its dents easily. Otherwise it's the same design as the One, so it's the removable cover that really takes away from the feel and durability of the phone.

There's a huge market now in plug-in battery packs. If you need three days of battery life, why not bring an ...

It's just nice being able to through in a charge batter and continue on through the day. I have the Moto X and I turned the data off and turned it off at night and I was able to squeeze 2.5 days out of it.

With the enchanced battery mode on the M8 you could go even longer.

I don't think the cover on my Note 3 feels cheap, and it is removable. All this senseless reveling over a unibody design is ridiculous. I'm sure you could make some awesome looking cars if the windows didn't roll down, and I would be just as puzzled by people who drooled over a design like that.

I make a full day on my ONE(2013) I don't see the reason for a removable battery.

Because your battery will eventually fail. Or you might go somewhere you don't have power for a couple days. Either way, being able to replace the battery yourself would be a benefit. But you already know this.

or as someone else pointed out. Just buy a portable battery pack for the device. I'd take a portable pack over a removeable battery any batter simply because the battery packs come in larger volumes. I work in a plant and i cant get to an outlet so i plug it into a batter pack to charge. Removeable batteries are so last year

There's always a tredeoff. Many of these battery packs are large cumbersome planks. They're good for several charges, but they are also several times the size of the phone and you still have to wait for them to charge, as opposed to popping in a fully charged battery and being good to go in seconds. The other implementation I've seen is something more like an external case . It adds bulk to the phone (something unthinkable by virtually everyone who prefers a unibody design) and also comes at a premium price over a regular battery. You can declare removable batteries dead (pun intended) all you like if that makes you feel good, but manufacturers are still selling them and people still buy them.
