Is it faster then a standard modem (56K?). Do phones that have this have full internet browsers? I'm a GSM guy, so I have no idea.

Think low level DSL. I think VZW claims 500 to 800 kbps or so.

Average DSL connection in the US around 200kbps. The DSL companies advertise up to 1500kbps, but actual line conditions and distance to the switch dramatically affect speed.

If you have GSM then don't worry HSDPA is coming and it's faster than EV-DO the main problem with any broadband service is coverage.

Speed is useless if there's no access to it.

400-700kbps with bursts up to 2Mb/second. Average dialup connection is 19k. So... EVDO is potentially 36 times as quick as dial up!

well it depends what you are talking about... there are rev o and rev a.

rev o can do up to 1.5mb/s with speeds from 400-600kb/s. rev a is up to 3mb/s with avg speeds of 1.5mb/s.

hope that helps.
