Apple Remote App Updated with More Tools
Apple Remote:
I can understand why they only make something that controls their product - you don't see Sony releasing remote controls that can only work with Samsung tvs. However, they would make more money and cater to a wider audience if it did work with other products, but remember that's not what's important to apple. Being as elitist as possible is.
only real use for it right now is with ISIS
It's funny, the last time I ordered a Mac, I called Apple to do it, and I asked the guy I was talking to if I could get USB 3,0, he insisted that Apple would never adopt USB 3.0 and that the future of file transfer is Apple Thunderbolt, Thunderbolt is better than USB blah blah blah....and I responded sarcastically 'well you can say that Thunderbolt is better, but actual USB 3.0 devices exist, but not Thunderbolt devices exist.....so at least 3.0 is something that I can actually use'
But this is their mentality, they have a serious case of 'not invented here syndrome'....if something wasn't invented by Apple, then it simpl...

only main use like i mentioned for if it every really starts being used more is for that mobile wallet, which that really isnt big because of the limited banks and having to buy the sim card for it
using just bluetooth itself is much easier so even though i have an S 4 and have nfc and S Beam i have never once turned it on due to its never needed, just like when Ive had iPhones in the past
Again, if you don't use NFC, that's fine. But don't tell the rest of us that NFC is obsolete/useless.
and its clearly not just me that doesnt use it most people dont even known what it is or what it can do. once there are a few more areas it can be used for maybe then it will be something really important to have but right now not really
and i agree that if its a high end or remium device it should have everything available but you theres always going to be differences in phones theyre of course not gonna have all of the same features as every other phone that would make no sense, especailly when i...

I'm sure there are companies out there who have ideas for NFC usage who are sitting on their hands waiting for the iPhone to finally get NFC to deploy it.
I like Google saying they won't make Google apps available for Windows Phone until it passes a certain threshold of market share, and they say this with full knowledge that not having Google apps is going to prevent Windows Phone from ever getting that market share.
so due to the fact they can use it, with that case which i think is the worst thing ever, they can start devoloping these uses or start making them available
I have a toggle in my car for drive mode on/off.
Also if Apple would make NFC available Hotels could just authorize your phone so you can then use the NFC chip in your phone to open you hotel door. They should just do this and all iPhone owner then can carry around a NFC card to unlock their doors or pony up and by an $70-80 NFC sleeve.
That is just one possibility for NFC there's probably hundred of other possibilities, but like the example above why implement something like this when a lot of people have iPhones. Then also dealing with that headache of explaining why Android and Windows phones can do it yet there precious iPhone can't.
Theyre ok i guess but just seems like it could be something easily lost.
as far as for a hotel if they have to carry around any type a card at all, that would defeat the purpose of it all or you might as well just use the regular key/card theyre using now
and yes like ive said earlier there could be a lot of uses for it but the fact that iPhones dont have it yet, even though with that case they actually do, that should not stop these companies from having it out there and if or when iPhones do have it as part of the device it can be launched.
So I guess you can say "it has started"?
But then again, making it built-in to the iPhone is a different story. They have seen already that they can sell their product without the feature and then charge an extra $70 for the feature alone (iPhone NFC case). So they'll make profit from it, most likely. You know Apple!
and thats what i was saying technically it has started but you dont see all of these new usages for the nfc tech being developed or really even heard of, atleast i havent
if it benefits them in some way to provide i ion the phone theyll put it in there if not, not much anyone can really do about it
