Actually, I believe that it is to replace the PPC-666*. Just wonder if they will offer an upgrade to those who previously bought their PPC-666*!

OPPs, I mean the PPC-660* (That's what happens boys & girls when we don't "PREVIEW"!)😉

I hear there will be a software upgrade for the PPC=660X so they will be EVDO. They are capable but need the functionality to turn it on.

The 6600 is ev-do capable. No software update is needed. One's account must be configured with the ev-do plan / codes for it to work

While they have had a page here on this phone for several days (yes, they have), even today so far, Sprint doesn't have it listed.

If the article is correct, it should be available today. It's strange then not to see it there.

If I can get to my local store today, I'll post the results.

Thanks. I didn't think it would only be shown there. As most business's seem to discourage both pictures and video, with many manufacturers offering duplicate phones without them, just for business, I would have thought that they would have, at least, made this available through the regular channel as well.

Ok, I just got off the phone with Sprint. I was told that if I go to a Sprint store I can buy the phone, that it isn't limited to business customers there. It likely will be available to non-business customers on their site at some point as well.

Nope... Wrong on many fronts. Treo is a Palm device, the 660X and 6700 are Windows. 2 completely arch-rival formats. This is an update to the 6700. The Treo 650 isn't going anywhere!

yeeup agreed completely back when the 6600 came out I thought I was set for life and hated it. I couldn't dial for crap in the car with that thing and it doesn't look like this will be any different

That is exactly why Voice Command is imperative with these phones. Aside from pulling contacts or dialing, you can actually begin an application, start a playlist, or ask when your next appointment is. For $30.93 on pricegrabber, I'm pretty sure it's the very first purchase anyone should make after buying a pocket pc phone.

Again, any word on this phone for the Verizon network?
