I think online sales are hurting them a lot, but it can't be just that thoug. Yesterday I walked in one asking for an HDMI cabel for my cell to my TV. Didn't know what I was talking about.

Expensive HDMI cables are the biggest scam ever....HDMI connections are a strictly binary thing, either it is connected or its not, there is no such thing as one cable providing a 'better' connection than another. People are fooled into buying expensive HDMI cables because they confuse them with Coax cables. With Coax cables, the strength of the signal is determined by how good the connection is, a better connection equals a better picture, something we have all experienced at one time or another when we go behind the TV to tighten the Coax to improve the picture. It's worth paying for a more expensive coax cable because a more expensive cable can create a stronger connection. With HDMI, either it's connected or not, there is no 'impro...

Yeah - I got fooled way back in the day, maybe 8 - 10 years ago, I paid almost $100 for a "fiber optic" Monster HDMI wire, and I will never, ever make that mistake again. Same thing with audio wires for home theatre speakers - doesn't matter what kind you get. I read about a focus group where they used Normal speaker wire for part of the test, and then, they Cut coat-hangers with tin snips, welded them together, and forced them into the speaker hole on speakers so they transmitted sound. I remember that several members of the focus group thought the coat-hangers produced better audio quality then the normal wires. So yeah, huge HUGE sam.

Are you talking about the difference between a $7 'Gumy' headset vs a $300 pair of 'Dr Dre Beats headphones?

The fancy once have much better sound and noise cancellation, they are worth it if you're an audiophile.

What's the big deal about these headphones?
Is it all just because they're "dessigned" byr Dre and announced with Bieber's face? Or do they sound soo good? Or maybe is it because the speakers will absolutely never be blown? I'm really clueless regarding what makes them so expensive.

If it's quality you're looking for, there are professional headphones out there that goes for about $1000, so I higly doubt the price is because "they're the best headphones in the world".

I mean they aren't bad. You are buying the name like you are with a apple, a L.V purse, Or Jordans. I mean they do offer a quality sound but it is mostly name sake. For $300 There are far better headphones for a cheaper price. but no it isn't worth $300 to buy them

I get what you're saying, but that's not quite the case. First of all, there is this thing called noise. Perhaps you've heard of it? Crappy wires pick it up and can screw with the data transmission. This was more of a problem with analog circuits, but digital circuits are prone as well. So, good shielding is nice.

Also, wires have this property where they tend to drop parts of the signal the longer they are. Ethernet cables are strictly for binary data, and even those need a repeater after about 100 ft. But better wires ma...
