who can blame t-mobile?

Blackberry has one foot in the grave. I'd like them to come back to life, but at this point with so many corporate shifts away from the Blackberry platform, it's not difficult to see why T-Mobile would have done that. I hope Blackberry rights all their wrongs - I was burned with the Blackberry Storm and couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

Except that Apple computers are by far better for the average user. The only exception is for video games.

Apple iPhones are for people who want a phone that works and doesn't have force closes and is always on the latest version of the software. Even the iPhone 4 has the latest version of the OS. Does the Droid 2 have the latest version? Or the Galaxy s2?

The point is the the apple products are not overpriced/overrated or overhyped. Even though I hate Apple products.

$20 for a simple cable is overpriced.

Using the "dock" connector instead of a USB one was ridiculous. And while their newest connector is nice, it only works with Apple devices, and Apple devices will only work with that lightning connector. They could easily have standardized on one of the USB connectors.

Forcing their accessories to become obsolete so that you have to buy new ones, or in my case they no longer provide a solution. Remember the FM radio connector? It worked with one of the iPods, and then was not supported after that.

I for one hope Apple never moves to mico USB, it is the worst charging port ever made, I would much rather my phone be a tad bigger and have a mini USB over micro, the lighting port is way better then both of those its small and doesnt brake as easy as the micro, and if it does its just the charger not the port like so many android phones

Micro USB is more durable than mini which is part of the reason most products have changed.

I read somewhere that there may be a new USB connector that's reversible just like the lightning connector. That would be perfect, and you wouldn't need to spend $20 for a cable.

Just because i like apple doesnt mean I'm one of the iSheep, I did traded in my iPhone 5S for a Note 3, and a custom Moto X as a secondary phone, the only reason i would care about removable batter is if the charging port broke, so i could use a external charger, iphone charginf ports dont brake nearly as often as micro USB

more people have charging port problems with there andriod then they do battery problems, 50% of people cant even make it a year before they have to hold there charger in a special position to get it to charge, and not long after that it stops woking at all

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's a bogus statistic. I seriously doubt that half of all charging ports break in less than a year. I also seriously doubt that the failure rate for charging ports (though obviously significant) is higher than the failure rate of batteries.

Firstly, the dock connector allows for the cable to do more than just charging. The iPhone has lots of docking stations. Android phones have almost none.

Second, the price of the cable is only $20 at the store. Just like a micro USB cable is $15. not much of a price difference.

Third, Apple changed the charging port once in 4 years. Before Micro USB all the cellphone manufacturers had their own proprietary charging port and they changed the port every couple years or more. So don't try and make Apple look like the bad guy because they wanted a better charging port. There are a lot more things to blame on Apple but that isn't one of them.

The dock connector doesn't allow the iPhone to do anything a USB connector couldn't have done. They could have easily gone with mini USB which is what the Blackberry 8830 used which is the same age as the iPhone.

Not sure where you're getting your USB cables, but I only pay about $1.50. Check out monoprice.

Not relevant to bring basic phones that had a charge only port into the conversation. As I mentioned above, smartphones at that time used USB. The latest cable from Apple even has a chip in it, meaning that no one can create a cable for Apple products without paying a license fee.

Could it be that Apple wants control over their product? They want to be able to have the best possible products(in their opinion) for their customers? This way they don't have little chinese companies make $1.50 cables that break after a few months. Micro USB or Mini USB doesn't have the audio and video capabilities that the 30-pin or lightning cable have.

All I have to say is...really? The interface is no more user friendly than any other...Windows 8 aside. And don't throw the "you can't get a virus" mantra at me because that garbage is an overused and VERY tired marketing slogan that Apple brainwashed into everyone who purchases it. Do some research...

"Apple iPhones are for people who want a phone that works and doesn't have force closes and is always on the latest version of the software. Even the iPhone 4 has the latest version of the OS. Does the Droid 2 have the latest version? Or the Galaxy s2?"

That's funny since the research shows that Apple Computers are less vulnerable to viruses than PC's. Why? Part of the reason is because Apple is such a small portion of the computer market that virus makers don't waste their time on such a small percentage. Another reason is because it built more secure than windows. However, Windows 7 and on had become a lot more secure than previous versions.

So you are saying that Android is not capable of controlling RAM properly? But Apple that has less RAM than a lot of Android phones can handle it correctly. So you just proved my point.

Did you get 4.4 the day Google released it? I think not. With the iPhone you get the update the moment its released.

Oh you mean like Google released android 4.4 then 4.4.1 then 4.4.2. Or going back from 2.3 to 2.3.1, .2, .3, .4 and so on til .7. There is always going to be glitches. Although I personally think the only people who care about being on the latest version of the OS is the people who visit sites like this. A matter of fact I can't tell the difference between 4.3 and 4.4 on my HTC ONE. I should have just stuck with 4.3. Although 4.4 hasn't hurt my phone at all but as far as I can it it was an unnecessary upgrade on my phone.

---"The point is the the apple products are not overpriced/overrated or overhyped. Even though I hate Apple products."---

If you hate Apple products, then you should feel great knowing you are not one of the very small marketshare of the world that spent more money on a product enough to make it one of the most richest companies in the world next to oil. A feat like this doesn't happen unless the company has too much control over a product that is severely overpriced. And it's always the same people re-purchasing the Apple products. Continually dropping marketshare is indication that the most expensive route for a damn phone is not financially feasible for most as they realize the price gouging.

It was so incredibly sluggish.

It was well made physically. But the hardware inside was at least a generation out of date, coupled with spaghetti code which had to be there to turn a physical button device into a touchscreen device, this thing was slllllooooowwww.

I can't tell you how many times I would try to get a picture, and by the time the photo was taken, the subject was long gone.

I'm talking about the Blackberry Storm. The 9530 which I had, so I know what I'm talking about. It was very slow. It was very frustrating to use. When I went to the store and saw the lightning fast Motorola Droid, I couldn't believe how much faster a phone could be. Prior to the Storm, I'd upgrade occasionally, and even liked my Blackberry I had before it. But the Storm was terrible. Very slow processor and an operating system that wasn't designed from the ground up to work with the new paradigm.

Who really cares? I mean formerly being a BlackBerry user and loving it and finding that it met my needs for years, I'd love to buy one again...if the specs matched up with offerings from Apple, Samsung, HTC and LG. The apps alone are one reason. I stay away from BlackBerry. The hardware while generally well built lacks form factor that the others have down pat, the UI is nothing to be excited about nor is it intuitive. With a company that shifted focus to consumers in the mid 2000s it only took a few short years to lose that focus and completely alienate users by not changing fast enough to what consumers demand. Both feet in the grave, they keep pulling the dirt to their faces literally in this market. TMobile is a huge partner for Android...

No. Nobody is switching to T-mobile because they have the blackberry they want. Blackberry ends up costing T-mobile money instead of making them money. Blackberry hailed their new BB10 as something that can compete with Android and iPhone. They fell short and the iventory that T-mobile spent on the BB10 phones are now gone and is not coming back. T-mobile wants to make customers happy not give them blackberries.

Let's be honest here.....T-Mobile is Android Central...Android is just about the only thing they sell anymore.......this is why some people have suggested that Google should just go ahead and buy T-Mobile and make the marriage legal ......so when T-Mobile tells Blackberry customers that they should switch to 'another platform' what platform are they referring to? Windows Phone? I don't think so, Realistically, they can only mean Android.

If Burger King announced that from now on they are going to try to convince people who drink Coke to start drinking 'another cola' what 'other cola' do you think they would mean? Probably not RC Cola, right?

That you're part of an aggregate study by some group without your consent on a regular basis anyway. And in many other ways, aggregate data about your behavior is collected and analyzed on a regular, perhaps staggering, basis. Such is the nature of the world we live in.
