KitKat Removes some microSD Card Functionality

by Snapper314    Feb 18, 2014, 12:45 PM

Kitkat removes the ability to place, change, or remove files from any "Secondary External Storage" device. That is what they call any installed microSD Card.

So you won't be able to organize any folders you've created on the microSD card. No adding, moving, or even deleting.

If an application has created its own "system" folder on a microSD, then it can access it. But these "system" folders don't always exist, nor are they ones that can be renamed or moved.

Sad

So KitKat 4.42 makes File Manager applications just about useless.
