"... they were surprised by the level of skepticism for the deal." This shows how clueless they are about their own field.

No, if you think that Hesse and Son are "clueless," then it might be you who is "clueless." Seriously, you need to have a more informed perspective than this.

Hesse and Son are right, and T-Mobile management agrees. It is an almost incontrovertible fact that Sprint and T-Mobile individually will never be able to achieve the scale to compete effectively with the duopoly of VZW and AT&T -- both of which achieved their scale through mergers, by the way.

The people who have the biggest problem with this seem to be those with an almost emotional attachment to T-Mobi...

My comments are not meant to be nice. They are meant to be forceful and informative because so many of you are poorly informed. You make unsubstantiated assertions about topics you do not understand, so you need to be corrected.

As for Andras888's comment, he called Hesse and Son "clueless." Well, it is only fair that he should expect the same in return. At least, I provided elaboration in my comment.

Absolutely. I agree with you. Thank you for providing feedback. Tmobile has got no real competitive future by themselves. All this talk from their CEO sounds nice but when it comes down to it the coverage even in the city is spotty, now that there are more subscribers their "Fastest" 4G LTE claim is all hype. My 4G LTE speeds went from 15-25mbps to 4-6mbps if I am lucky. When I say Lucky I mean if my phone can hold a signal of 4g LTE while I travel across California in the metro area may I add. Coverage is non existant as far as data goes in rural locations.

Son is a rockstar in Japan, he has a history of combining companies and becoming number 1. That is why he is trying this here. Sprints new basestations can handle new network technologies with a swap of a hardware card.

I have hope reading this thread now. I was worried that no one else was looking at the big picture. It's a big forest if you can see past the trees. This is whats best for business in the long run.

Sprint sucks. Go back to your little website sg4ru or whatever the hell you call it. The feds ain't approving this deal. Sprint dug themselves a hole let them dig their way out of it. The a-holes at Sprint are still dealing with backhaul issues it's 2014 smfh

Regardless of how you may feel about AJ(WiWavelength), the info he has portrays knowledge which encompasses the dynamic, sophisticated, complex operation in the internal operation for what characterizes technical and managerial implementation of the wireless industry.

While I personally respect TMO's recent wave of news bites, I fear the clientele in which it is attracting, is exactly what VZW and ATT find non-competitive.

Mr. Hesse:

JJinNYC, I do not know what your problem is, but you should stop making wild assumptions. You assume that I support a T-Mobile acquisition. I have never stated anything to that end. Instead, I have presented rational arguments why a SoftBank tie up of Sprint and T-Mobile is even being considered.

Additionally, you should stop displaying your clearly biased ignorance on wireless licensing, technology, and regulation. You hate Sprint. We get that. But that is emotion, not reason. Your conclusions about WiMAX, BRS/EBS 2600 MHz, backhaul, etc., are unfounded and unsubstantiated.

What have you ever done for this industry but spew misinformation and racial slurs? I, on th...
