I'm usually on board with the lengths Google goes to integrate everything, but this one is big time bull crap. I'll be opting out as soon as the email reaches my inbox.

I thought the same till I read the email, only people who follows me can only send me an email, without getting my email address. They will only get my email once I respond to the email, and vice versa. This helps a lot with school I don't have all my friends emails but I have them on all G+.

Yea, but this will become a playground for SPAM. Why do they care if they know your email address as long as they can send you stuff?

No they can only send you one email without your email because once you respond the will have you email. So ignore first email they can't send you any more emails.

Is that spelled out somewhere because I missed it in the article? Also, spammers are notorious for creating bogus accounts for one single use and then moving on to another another bogus account. If Google doesn't do a good job of preventing them from creating bogus accounts, they will still be able to spam you by just creating a new account every time.

But even still, I'm not interested in getting even one email from a stranger, ever.

Let's hope they do. Or at least provide users an option to disable such feature, then.
