Net Neutrality?

Honestly, wouldn't bother me at all if this goes through and allows me to use Hulu or Netflix with those companies paying for the data usage. I know I may catch flack for what I'm saying but don't see the problem. T-Mobile is looking at a similar deal with certain plans and Facebook access. I'm sure if the tables were turned and it was TMO or Sprint doing this, nobody would be complaing about violations.

Now, if any company wants to not allow access to a site because they don't care for them or for whatever reason, I'd agree it would be an issue.

I agree with you 100% I'm with AT&T and I love their service but wouldn't mind saving a little!

What are you nuts? This is just the move of a greedy provider, which if successful will only drive prices up at the very least. Do you really think that companies like Netflicks are going to pay for your data without raising prices on everyone (including non ATT customers)?

In the best case this is akin to your electric company asking Kenmore to foot the bill for the electricity your washing machine consumes. Do you really want the electric company checking how you use your electricity? Or would you prefer that they simply provide as much as you need?

In the worst case you have a data provider telling you what you...

A bit paranoid qre we? The sky isn't falling, and I still have no problems with this. Sure, AT&T is out to make money, what a revelation! Didn't know they were is business to lose money. Be find by me if the other 3 national carriers do this as well.

>>A bit paranoid qre we?

I think with all the recent revelations that have come out in regards to how the NSA is trampling on the Constitution and in bed with all the big technology companies, the people with the tin foil hats are looking more and more like the sane ones every day. In regards to technology, it is cliche, at best, to call someone paranoid.

>>Sure, AT&T is out to make money, what a revelation! Didn't know they were is business to lose money.

Along that line of logic, would it be ok if I looted your bank account, just so long as I'm, "out to make money?" Or would you prefer if I found some more ethical way to make my money? You see, you can be ethical and also make money.

Zpike,
Don't get me wrong, I'm also against the crap the US District Court in Washington ruling siding with VZW. I consider it to seperate issues. Really don't have a problem with someone paying for my data as privously I posted.

Well, I have mixed feelings about that one. I probably agree that it is outside their authority, as TBone has frequently pointed out. But, since none of the other government agencies want to actually do their jobs and protect the American public, I'm glad the FCC was actually trying to do something. Our mega-rich, out-of-touch politicians ought to get off their fat lazy asses and do something of value other than backbiting and forcing the cost of everything up and all our jobs over seas.

>> I consider it to seperate issues.

Well, these two issues are separate as of right now. But wait until ATT starts extorting companies like ...
