Wow... talk about trying to stick it to them.
Also, let me get this straight... they want you to trade in your device AND bring your own device to activate? Really?

It's either-or. You can trade-in your old device for "UP TO" $250 credit, or get it unlocked and take just the $200 number port-in credit.
...
But to get the full $450, that's what they want you to do.
...
I think you misread that. The $450 is for the tradein/bring your own AND for each line activated.
This is really an attempt to battle against Tmobiles smear campaign they have on the radio and TV. Its business as asual.
...
...up to $450 in credit to switch to AT&T. AT&T will give T-Mobile customers device trade-in credits of up to $250
Okay, so that's $250...
AT&T is also offering T-Mobile customers a $200 credit per line when they transfer their number to AT&T. In order to get the $200 credit...or activate a device they already own.
That's $450 total
How am I misreading this?
...
You aren't. I think the poster above meant that if you got your existing phone unlocked, then you could use it on AT&T and foreit the up-to $250 credit, but you wouldn't need to buy a new phone.
...
Yeah... I'm looking at the whole picture of the $450 credit and how they presume a way to get it.
...
you are missing the part where you can activate under there next plan so you can get one of there devices for $0 down and pay monthly for it, also you can trade in one of your phones and buy a AT&T one at full price and get the $450 credit
...
either trade your device for up to $250 credit or activate your own, plus they offer $200 per line (I guess you can use that for cancellation fees?) Sounds like a very desperate move to try to erase T-Mobile off the map. I don't care what they offer, I'm not switching to a company that puts limits on everything.
...
limits? The only limit is on the data, which i completely understand. Why does Tmobile and Sprint data suck so much? Because they allow everyone full force on the towers and it bogs them down to the point where no one can get a good reading.
Verizon and ATT no longer offer unlimited data because they have the fastest speeds in more places. Its a better plan for travelers and business folks.
Unlimited slower plans are better for the home bodies that don't really do anything on their phones or are home bodies.
If Tmobile didn't throttle, id think you have a valid point.
...
Maybe in your area ATT is the almighty, where I live, T-mobile is more than sufficient for me. Average speeds of 15 down and 10 up, with top speeds of 50 down and 20 up are more than enough for me, its even better than my broadband connection. I rarely hit my data cap of 4.5GB and I'm online most of the time, listening to pandora (high quality) downloading torrents and apps, and when I do I don't get slapped in the face with fees. To each his own, I don't know how good ATT is around here, since the last time I was with them was probably 5 years ago. But if you like to pay more for "better service" go right ahead, I'm really content with T-mobile.
...
You realize that if t-mobile got more subscribers in your area that the speed of your Internet would go down. So you don't want to advertise how good you think t-mobile is. Imagine t-mobile right now with the number of subscribers that Verizon or AT&T have. The service would break down. You want other people to not lot t-mobile so you can continue to receive good service.
...
Never tough about it like that lol.
...
Fastest speeds?
I was at a ballgame with my wife and she had her Verizon Galaxy S4, I had my T-Mobile HTC One. She couldn't do anything on her phone even though she had full signal with LTE. Mine was blazing fast, also full signal LTE.
...
Really because I was at the same ball game and the person next to me had an LG G2 with t-mobile and did had full signal LTD and their phone couldn't do anything but my AT&T HTC ONE was super fast.
...
Maybe AT&T doesn't have any customers in that area.

>>Really because I was at the same ball game.....
Wait, how do you know you were at the same ball game?
...
His team lost, that's how he knows.
...
I'd rather have limits I can use then unlimited then that first work anywhere.
