This is a great way to use some of the excess spectrum and offer customers a true "broadband" replacement.

Fixed wireless deployment is a GREAT idea for almost any location more than 2 miles away from the nearest interstate highway.

Wonko, you are neglecting the fact that fixed wireless antennas are strongly directional. Think of a cell phone like it's a Coleman lantern broadcasting in all directions whereas a fixed wireless setup is more like a pocket laser pointer.
