Well now it is harder to get a phone unlocked at AT&T. We are no longer allowed to unlcok phones. It is done through an online portal,or through an internal case that can be created and if all the requirements aren't met, you are not getting the unlock code for this device

It can be frustrating in fact when you do it through the oline portal. I've seen cases where all the requirements are met and as soon as you enter the IMEI it says that it is unlockable. That's why we create that internal case. Once we explain that the requirements are met and the phone should be unlocked, you just have to wait for your email with the unlock code.
To pretend this is a solution without a problem is showing a understanding at some distance from the facts.
