No, I have never used a PadFone. It isn't available in the US. But I have owned countless Asus mother boards over decades, currently use an Asus monitor, and have owned Asus laptops. I also have used Asus tablets (think Nexus 7) owned by friends. I have never had a negative experience with any Asus product I have ever touched. Their brand is as high of a quality in electronics as I know of. But apparently you have actually used a PadFone. Care to share your experience? Or are you only into senseless bashing?

I appreciate your response. But if your only real considerations are that you're too lazy to undock the phone for phone calls and that you prefer separate devices, that's not going to kill my enthusiasm at all. The last PadFone I saw specs for had a 5" 1080p screen, which is pretty good for normal usage. Then being able to dock into a much larger screen for productivity and media consumption sounds perfect. I also have a phablet, btw. But this form factor seems to be the logical next step for having both a big screen and a phone you can hold to your head in the same device. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I like the form factor and am thrilled it's coming here.

Also, I've been tinkering with PC's since the early 90's and there's very li...
