20 billion from Softbank. . .not enough?
$20bln is a real lot of money! Sprint oughta be able to accomplish a lot with that! Look at how fast T-Mobile deployed LTE with the $4bln it got from ATT!

They should be able to do a lot with $20bln though.

Something is not right at Sprint. I'm glad I left this incompetent company. I hope T-Mobile comes from behind and bites them in the a$$.

"I hope T-Mobile comes from behind and bites them in the a$$."
If T-Mobile stays on the forefront of customer focused policies and keeps upgrading their network, that will happen sooner rather than later.

Its the deal with Apple to sell the iPhone, its costing them big. This is what happens when you make a deal with the devil.

I immediately thought exactly the same thing.....but the truth is, Sprint is just stupid. at&t and Verizon both managed to make deals with Apple for the iPhone that didn't put them on the brink of bankruptcy....if Sprint wasn't able to do the same it is only because they don't know how to negotiate a deal with a company.

Yes 22 billion was invested in the merger with Sprint. However only 8 billion available for network expansion. For Softbank to get the 77% majority share they had to buyout the share holders. Sprint is currently in our area getting LTE up. I have it at work, at home, and most of the areas I visit. There still are quite a few 3G spots but 3G has also got noticeably faster. I'm loving the speed improvements and unlimited data. I'm assuming they are wanting to do this so they can build it out faster. It will get built its just a matter of when.
