Why Not Nexus 5?

For AT&T and T-Mobile, MetroPCS and even Sprint users, having the Nexus 5 is not only a great device in the mid-high end, but also can hold its own against flagship without the price being too high. Additionally, for people like me, who are mid-contract or using no-contract services it also fits a great price, for a great phone, or back up, or replacement.

I dont see this offered in your gift guide. And it should be!

We included the Moto X at least once, if not twice.

I can't recommend the Nexus 5 to people based on the camera alone. It's that bad. Sure, the price is cheap, but it is also sold-out / back-ordered and may not necessarily be available in time for proper gifting.

Thanks for clarifying!

I understand the device may be back-order, but still, I personally believe it deserves a mention, due to the fact that it combines great features at an accessible price. Mentioning to the consumer that it may not be available within time, obviously.

Still, you wrote a nice article there.

Not a good device for the common user.

Again, Eric's review was very objective about this device. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is looking for a primary cellphone.

Moto G would've been a better mention for the no-contract section.

EDIT: Actually, just saw Rich's response to that in the other thread. Makes sense to me. Lack of LTE and the lack of microSD card slot are the two biggest drawbacks of it for me.

Exactly I'd just go for an Optimus F6 if I were on MetroPCS. You lose the 720p screen but qHD ain't that bad. You'll get LTE and a microSD slot
