C Spire Offers Yearly Upgrades for $20 Per Month
Thats a joke..
First, two observations:
1. Their website has no "real/full" prices, only 2-year contract prices.
2. Also, it takes 10 years of being a customer to get the 30% discount. You start at 10%.
I suspect what the $20/month really gets you is the ability to get the UPGRADE PRICE (which is already heavily discounted, probably $200-300 off of MSRP) every 12 months instead of every 24.
I think the 10-30% discount is off of the already-subsidized upgrade pricing, and on top of the expedited subsidy makes it about even out.
That said, it's still dumb because at best all you are doing is paying loads of money in advance. Nothing magic happens to phone-buying money when you let your carrier hold it, other than to limit its utility to purcha...
