That's the problem. HTC should have made the Nexus

Moto X honestly should've been a Nexus phone.

Yeah I agree. Google missed the ball on that. The customization options are great, it's a solid device. All it needed was a bigger 1080p resolution screen. They're owned by Google anyway so why the phuck have LG keep making the Nexus? smh

Maybe because the Nexus 4 is great device? The only one I would say definitely makes better hardware is HTC. Maybe Motorola, but I don't think that is a definite. Of course, I am basing this solely on the Nexus 4, and not non Nexus LG devices of the past, as everyone loves to do for whatever reason.

I wasn't completely impressed with the Nexus 4. It was great for basic use, but I tried running a few intensive apps which didn't work any better than an older Samsung.

LG has always had a fundamental issue with app compatibility. They never seem to work as well as similarly-priced competitors.

At least you are providing a valid reason. Most anti-LG posts have no more substance than "OMG LOL NOT LG!" Certainly their products aren't perfect, but their reputation is far worse than it should be.

Yeah. I'm not anti-LG honestly but it's just that they never ever get it right. They always phuck something up. Either the camera, the build, the software. They always come so close. Look at the G2. Perfect device and they had to phuck it up by putting the volume rocker on the back. smfh

JJinNYC, while I don't think the Moto X is a bad phone, and is a good choice, but, I think the recent devices from LG have been pretty damned good. Using Samsung I think would have fueled the fire of basically not encourging diveristy in the Android phone ecosystem. HTC would have been a good alternative as well.

I recently order the black 32gb N5, and on purpose waited a week for several reasons, really didn't want to be an early adopter with risks the phone could have been a dog and second gives me time to sell off some other phones I have.So I get at the end of the month or early December not a big deal.

that the nexus is a premium device. It is not.

The HTC nexus one was a great premium device on its own, by it's time. It was supposed to encourage hardware makers and carriers to start making premium android devices. It accomplished it's goal, now everyone knows that Android is one of the best (3) platforms (presumably the best)

Google is not trying to impress anyone with their designs, the Nexus phone serves its purpose, being a development platform.

I disagree with your statement that the Nexus line isn't supposed to be premium. I've owned every single nexus phone and with the exception of the Nexus S which was a joke they all were premium. The Nexus 5 is the best yet. People have this idea that premium means aluminum or millions of software features your not going to use. And trust me I had the S4 for a month. I NEVER used most of the stuff they crammed in that phone. Premium to me means that it is in some way ahead of other phones. The Nexus 5 is the first phone to run KitKat, it's running the fasted Processor/GPU set on the market, and has actual useful features that the other guys have yet to adopt. Like wireless charging and( other than the moto x ) voice control. The build quality...
