I hope T-Mobile purchases Cellular One. That would give them more customers, and coverage in those areas. Does anyone know what bands does Cellular One use in those areas?

up for purchase would be the cellular one name in that market i think, NOT the actual company. The company itself, Dobson, does OK with GSM, they roam off of any t-mobile tower and most cingular/att (where roaming agreements apply.) If you check out a coverage map, it is nearly identical to a t-mobile one and a cingular one combined.

I wish they could buy the name and switch it to T-Mobile. Yeah, I noticed the coverage map that they have. It looks like Cingulars. Let me find out that Cingular is mostly using their coverage map, make it seem like Cingular themselves has raised the bar on coverage. I know Cingular does this, by making people think that they have wall to wall coverage.

Im my area Cingular uses Dobson towers almost exclusively, and yes, makes it appear as if it were their own. Dobson often makes maps and flyers saying extended area for serivce letting you know its either t-mobile or cingular coverage.

www.celloneusa.com, for a zip code put in something like 16038, to get into plans. then, national plans and then coverage maps(i think.) it's been a while since i've been on the site.

I check the site out, and it doesn't show you who the coverage belongs to. The have a big map like Cingular.

If you look at the darker blue area designated as home calling area that is the area that is native for them. Pretty small area it doesn't look like they have any major metros

I would really like to see T-Mobile purchase the WW part of CellularONE. I think it would then be several steps closer to purchasing Dobson CellularONE.

I do know for a fact that Dobson spent 6 million more dollars on advertising for 2005 than it did in it's previous years. They're sponsoring Joe Nemechek in the Busch Nascar series, & they have a ton more commercials out. They're really trying to stay in the game, but now that they've let my call center go & all my friends lost their jobs... I can honestly say that I hope T-Mobile picks them up, & if not T-Mobile, then Cingular.

Actually Alltell has purchased western wireless, the only thing up for sale is the Cellular one name brand, not the network.

Oh, I'm aware of that... but w/ the name up for grabs, if T-Mobile were to purchase it, it gets them closer to the purchase of Dobson & the rest of CellONE.

Not neccessarily true at all. Dobson is merely in a contract to use the brand NAME - the cell of the CellularONE brand has nothing to do with the purchase of any companies that are using the brand name.
