Everyone's opinions are valued, so I respectfully disagree that the UN-educated are snapping this phone up, the price currently is 199$ on contract so there are more spec heavy phones like the GS4 and the HTC One out there that offer faster specs compared to the X.. so there are plenty of choices.

However, with that being said you should try this phone in person because.. it's a fantastic smartphone. Motorola did a fantastic job in designing the phone, call quality is great and the UI is snappy (given that it's using a S4 chipset), and running an almost stock build of 4.2.2 is great. I hated the DROID Razr HD Maxx because the UI was laggy and didn't like the design one bit so it's refreshing to see Motorola doing something simple. I traded in my iPhone 5 because I hated iOS 7 and went for the X (bypassing the One, SG4 and DROID Maxx) after reading reviews and trying it out in person.. and after several days of using it, I still enjoy using it as my daily driver.

it's not going to suit everyone, but for the average consumer who wants a reliable smartphone and doesn't care about specs and cares more about reliability this is really a device to look at.
