If I'm remembering this wrongly, please correct me, but I thought the One wasn't gonna be carrier-restricted (loaded with bloat & delay upon delay of updates) like the One X and literally every other Android phone. Wasn't that one of its selling points? Why is only the Sprint version getting it?

There is a "nexus" variant of the HTC one, that runs a stock version of Android. It receives the updates directly from google as soon as they are available. There's also a nexus version of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Now, the international version of the non-nexus HTC receives most of the updates from HTC sooner than the carrier variants. Keep in mind that they use different hardware.
