Who cares. In the long run this government shutdown will be a non-event, just like the last one. It only serves the interest of political posturing, but won't actually solve anything, nor will it really hurt anything. I personally hope they never resolve it and the government operates at a minimum level for the next 2 years and saves us tax payers trillions of dollars. Then maybe Americans will realize they can live without a lot of the government that is bankrupting this country. Just my 2 cents.

The politicians will get paid regardless if they work or not. That's the American's largest bone of contention. Tons of money will still be pumped into their pockets. It's the government employees that won't receive paychecks that suffer from this. The innocent ones. I wish saving a little money would be at the politician's expense.

If you want a balanced budget, here's how you do it. Pass a Constitutional amendment which says that any time there is a deficit every single member of Congress, and every single person in the White House from the president on down, becomes permanently ineligible for re-election and loses their pension and health care benefits. There would never be a deficit ever again.

I like that amendment. Now, which of our corrupt politicians are you going to get to put it on the ballot?

Such an amendment could never get through Congress, it would require a Constitutional Convention.
