I absolutely hate sites that popup or auto play anything. This is a feature that will change my Facebook visits from rarely ever to never.

The facebook messenger app itself is already annoying with it's new "chat bubbles" (which can't be disabled in some phones).
Seeing your buddies' pictures in your newsfeed is already drawing a lot of your data. I can't imagine the increase in the amount of consumed data that this new "update" will bring with it.
I can foresee a lot of complaints for bill shock. Especially from people that have teens at home, those kids spend their entire day on facebook.

Besides, most Android phones still have just 512MB of RAM, the facebook app is already sluggish. Oh but I am sure this update will make the app a lot faster clap clap clap... Good thinking facebook!

The average teen-android-phone in the US has 512MB of RAM, a 1GHz A9 Processor (or dual core A5), and a WVGA display.
