Review: Nokia N75
Great Job on the Review.... NOT
Physically, you know what you're getting. The phone is HUGE. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. This phone was never meant to make the current generation of Razr look-a-likes look like F_A_T BOYS.
The facts about this phone are these; 1. Screen is enormous and beautiful. 2. Signal and Sound Quality are exceptional. 3. From a function stand point, this phone knocks the socks off any at&t 3G entry to date.
But what else can I say, you guys were right, after all. How bout a video to accompany this review?
The Symbian interface was mentioned in the review as the Nokia's major selling factor, but that doesn't excuse the underpowered processor they seemed to use. Holding this phone up to the rest of the Cingular 3G lineup is also mentioned in the review (did you even bother to read it?), the conclusion being that while the Nokia offers the compelling S60 OS, it fails to stand up to it's counterparts in offering HSDPA in slimmer, more attractive form factors.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with most of the reviews comments - my additional problem was a lot of my phone calls were of terrible quality (in a strong 3G area with full bars!).
I was unable to determine if my issues were phone - network - or both. Cust Svc ran several checks and suggested I exchange it, but the store was giving me some grief because I had returned a V3xx when I got the N75. (I only got the V3xx 'cause I was fed up with all the N75 delays!)
I'm waiting to see if subsequent shipments of the N75 come with any higher ratings than the ...

I finally got the phone yesterday...and I am almost ready to return it today. I am jazzed with the beautiful screen, shiny keypad, and even the "rubberized" matte finish. I am totally unjazzed with the cheap feeling construction, the poor call quality, the slow & laggy UI, and the dificulty (in fact the impossibility) for me in setting up my two POP3 email accounts that I did so easily on my Treo. I am pretty bummed with my initial encounter with this phone...
So...I am pretty much agreeing w...

I suspect they are insisting on using - and so forcing the OEMs to implement in the phones - the low-data-rate WCDMA voice CODEC options. They are probably doing this in order to get more capacity out of their 3G spectrum. However, as you and many others have experienced, the low-data-rate CODEC options also provide low-voice-quality.
But yet other folks in strong 3G areas are saying their call quality is great!
My N75 has been working fine. You cannot really compare it with anything else, because of what it is, a smartphone. It is a compromise device as I would prefer an unlocked N series but thats $800.00.
Providers dictate the design of the phone to control costs. You get what you pay for with a subsidized phone.
Sure beats my old SE Z500A hands down. And sets me apart from the Razr crowd.
The only real complaint on the phone is the inability to switch off 3G. Sound quality is excellent and the quality seems good. Ordered mine April 27th and had it about 3 weeks.
Well i work for cingular opps i mean att. And when the phone rep came in i was kinda excited but after compare it to the lg, and the sync it really not that excellent in my op ion.. 👀
The format remind me of the E-62 .... It slow like it tooooo.
well i guess we are waitin for the Apple phone ( i think its gonna just ok too) 🤣
