Great Job on the Review.... NOT

You guys did an excellent job making this phone sound very average. How about a section comparing it to other at&t 3G phones? How does this phone stack up to the v3xx? What about the SYNC? The CU500v? This phones smokes them all.

Physically, you know what you're getting. The phone is HUGE. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. This phone was never meant to make the current generation of Razr look-a-likes look like F_A_T BOYS.

The facts about this phone are these; 1. Screen is enormous and beautiful. 2. Signal and Sound Quality are exceptional. 3. From a function stand point, this phone knocks the socks off any at&t 3G entry to date.

But what else can I say, you guys were right, after all. How bout a video to accompany this review?

Wow, god forbid anybody calls Nokia out on their terrible build quality and slow user interface. How dare Phone Scoop bring up valid points and hold them against the phone? 🙄

The Symbian interface was mentioned in the review as the Nokia's major selling factor, but that doesn't excuse the underpowered processor they seemed to use. Holding this phone up to the rest of the Cingular 3G lineup is also mentioned in the review (did you even bother to read it?), the conclusion being that while the Nokia offers the compelling S60 OS, it fails to stand up to it's counterparts in offering HSDPA in slimmer, more attractive form factors.

I think phone scoop was more than fair in its review,I had identical problems with the audio quality of the phone, the OS was slow as dirt and the battery life on it is terrible.

I waited anxiously for many months for the N75 after it's announcement here. I got it - SERIOUSLY WANTED and TRIED to like it - I'm a HUGE Nokia fan - but ended up returning it.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with most of the reviews comments - my additional problem was a lot of my phone calls were of terrible quality (in a strong 3G area with full bars!).

I was unable to determine if my issues were phone - network - or both. Cust Svc ran several checks and suggested I exchange it, but the store was giving me some grief because I had returned a V3xx when I got the N75. (I only got the V3xx 'cause I was fed up with all the N75 delays!)

I'm waiting to see if subsequent shipments of the N75 come with any higher ratings than the ...

Unfortunately...I am one of those who eagerly waited for this phone, as a worthy backup to my Treo 680, which is still my "daily driver" since it has loads of apps loaded onto it and is totally stable...a great business and personal device for me.

I finally got the phone yesterday...and I am almost ready to return it today. I am jazzed with the beautiful screen, shiny keypad, and even the "rubberized" matte finish. I am totally unjazzed with the cheap feeling construction, the poor call quality, the slow & laggy UI, and the dificulty (in fact the impossibility) for me in setting up my two POP3 email accounts that I did so easily on my Treo. I am pretty bummed with my initial encounter with this phone...

So...I am pretty much agreeing w...

It is very likley that the poor voice quality was down to Cingular and their 3G network.

I suspect they are insisting on using - and so forcing the OEMs to implement in the phones - the low-data-rate WCDMA voice CODEC options. They are probably doing this in order to get more capacity out of their 3G spectrum. However, as you and many others have experienced, the low-data-rate CODEC options also provide low-voice-quality.

You're 'way beyond me techie-wise regarding this subject matter. All I know is that approx 1/3 of my calls were fine, approx 1/3 were borderline, and approx another 1/3 were broken and choppy, almost sounding like a half-duplex connection.

But yet other folks in strong 3G areas are saying their call quality is great!

I had 2 of them. Both locked up on incoming bluetooth. 1st one after about a week and the 2nd a didn't even last the day. The 1st was used with the Moto 700 & the 2nd with Nokia 800. A loud whistle on an incoming call instead of ringing. That was the end of it. Voice dialing was horrible. but could have lived with Cingy voice connect.

My N75 has been working fine. You cannot really compare it with anything else, because of what it is, a smartphone. It is a compromise device as I would prefer an unlocked N series but thats $800.00.
Providers dictate the design of the phone to control costs. You get what you pay for with a subsidized phone.

Sure beats my old SE Z500A hands down. And sets me apart from the Razr crowd.

The only real complaint on the phone is the inability to switch off 3G. Sound quality is excellent and the quality seems good. Ordered mine April 27th and had it about 3 weeks.

Don't get me wrong. I loved the phone. Two phones - both locked up and couldn't get an incoming call. Maybe a bad batch. Maybe I'll give it awhile and go back to it.
