Re: Lame Review
The main thing negative that I noticed when I played with one in a Cingular shop was the very bulky form-factor. This was very disappointing given the emphasis these days on design and style, things that Nokia once upon a time excelled at.
As for S60 and UMTS (WCDMA not HSDPA):
1) I personally like S60 and have owned many S60 devices since they first appeared in the USA. However, when comparing phones and features, then I am inclined to say "So what?" about S60 if then phone does not harness the power of the OS.
2) UMTS (WCDMA) is a true 3G technology, but again "So what?" for the same reasons as above. Also, it should be noted that the whole "UMTS vs. "HSDPA" discussion is probably irrelevant, as the the bottle-necks in the network data rates are rarely a result of the air-interface, e.g. some Carriers do not have big enough data "pipes" to their cell-sites. That said, it is true that the EVDO (Rev 0 and Rev A) networks in the USA typically offer much higher DownLink data rates than Cingular currently acutally provides.
