Well its not really the design that we or rather the majority of consumers are disappointed with its the lack of diversity and lack of features. There is a reason Android has taken a large portion of the market share. The reason is variety some people have different needs but all customers like to have a phone that is their own and not a phone that is extremely limited unless it is hacked just to be able to change the theme or color scheme of your phone.

Do all customers need their eyes to be followed when using the phone? No. But progressive customers who know how to use a feature to their advantage do. Do all customers need a finger print scanner to unlock a phone? No. But a business customer who needs that "extra" protection for his work phone might have use for it.

Same can be said about all the features any smart phone offers whether it is Apple, Windows, Android, or Blackberry non of the features are truly necessary but are nice to have. We are still far away from seeing a complete smart phone. I just want to be able to have a watch, phone, and productivity tool on my wrist already. Can we move away from bar style phones and just start the future already. grr.
