They used it to cover up for their product's lack of features, such as NFC and so. Metals are a great conductor, so the phone temperature will only conduct better through the back material, metal-sealed phone materials also tend to block some signals. Having this "Quality Feel" doesn't compensate for the lack of features and performace. Plus, take in mind that as soon as you encounter a battery issue you won't be able to replace it yourself. You'll have to spend on service for it. Memory is also a great issue, if the device fails retrieving the information stored is not going to be so easy, even tho' it was stored in the cloud.
And BTW, don't forget that bluecoyote is a major Apple fanboy. Don't feed the trolls!
