I understand what you're saying, but Wikipedia is WAY better than people say and it gets old.

There are literally an infinite number of numbers so it isn't as if Google had to conserve them in order not to run out. I know Google doesn't make Firefox, but I find it funny how Google labels major revisions to Android with a tweak to a minor number while Firefox updates the major number of its version anytime they release even the most insignificant update.
