So, let me get this straight. The low end, throw away phones get a removable battery, while the high end phones have imbedded so you can't ever get to it in chance there is a problem?
Nice! How embarrassing that someone with a low end phone can carry on business in case of a battery issue but those with high end, are rendered useless until returned or repaired. Who is the sucker now? The manufacturer or the consumer?

AND they both have MicroSD slots, UNLIKE the One and One Mini...wtf? Why are important features only on lower-end handsets? This makes me want to just get smaller, cheaper phones if it means removable batteries and storage.

It's absolutely crazy how this industry is trying to mold consumers. I've been around cell phones for more than 27 years and work around expensive equipment that utilizes small batteries for PLC operation and and other control boards. To have a $30,000 combi oven unresettable due to failed battery and lack of consumer battery access, is potentially shutting part of their main business down. Why is a phone different? Or why was having a removable battery in a laptop not an issue? First and foremost of importance, should be the overall continued functionality of expensive products.

They're leading the market to make the consumer spend more cash either on a new phone, or to spend on tech services by the time the non-removable battery fails or system crashes.
The greater issues are battery, and the fact that all the information stored within the inner memory (non-removable) won't be easily recovered.

The fixed memory(non-removable), has been a large concern of mine as well. Although cloud services have allowed us to bypass on board memory, I simply don't trust the accuracy or security of these services. I also like being able to upgrade my memory at will rather than having to spend extra dollars on a phone with more memory than I "may" need. Non-emovable battery is the biggest thorn in my side but not for insurance companies that are waiting for their deductable.
