I guess time will tell. The real question is, can and will Microsoft keep Nokia on the path to their form glory. Not that I really had an issue with Ballmer, but hopefully whoever takes his place, I'm thinking Elop, will keep them on a good path. He already has a great mindset from being with the head of Nokia. They promote will and make great devices. With him in charge, I see an OS and hardware integration that would rival that of Android or iOS. What we should and hopefully see is faster updates, better developer support and better customization options.

Regardless of what people think about Microsoft, I don't see them spending all this money to just let Windows Phone fall to the way side. So, everyone who thinks that the should just get out of the mobile sector, wishful thinking. If at first you don't succeed...you know the rest. This mentality is what will ultimately make Windows Phone and Windows 8 OS continue to grow and evolve. They just need to continue to listed to consumers and grow with technology.

This purchase will give some credit to the idea that the next Surface 2 or 3 tablet will be Nokia made.
