It Finally Happened
This is why some guys are persistent. Eventually you'll wear her down and she'll say "Yes."
I wonder if Vodaphone will now buy Sprint or T-Mobile or rather take the money and run.
...
Sprint is spoken for by Softbank, At&t and T-Mobile would be the logical choice since they would have compatible network. If Deutsche Telekom really want's out of the US and Vodafone wants to stay in but want more control then T-Mobile would be a good choice. it would then have a compatible network in the US with the rest of their network. I doubt they would buy AT&T because the price would be outrageous but anything can happen.
...
Thanks, John. I forgot about Softbank. Well, chances are good that Vodaphone is just cashing in its chips I suppose. Although all of Europe uses GSM...like T-Mobile. I wonder if Verizon Communications finally became desperate enough to pay any price or did Vodaphone just become bored with being a silent partner?

Who knows we may never know or we can found out immediately, we will just have to watch it play out.

I read that because the federal reserve is about to stop its stimulus program interest rates and the cost of borrowing money so cheap is about to go away. This was a now or never scenario and Verizon realized it would never be able to borrow the money so cheap for another generation

I have to wonder if Verizon wasn't a little bothered by at&t's recent ads bragging that they are 'the only fully American owner wireless carrier'

AT&T take over, probably not, some kind of merger might happen, both want into each others markets, both are market leaders. Market Cap of both are for the most part on par. Could happen.
As far as Verizon, wonder how they're going to pay that nut back, managment take pay cuts and forgo bonuses, or layoffs and raising of mobile rates?
...
We all know management won't take a price cut or forgo bonus. They will have layoffs and raise mobile prices even higher and probably cut subsidizes a little or possibly all together.
...
Nothing will change. They can pay for this with the profit they do not have to share anymore. They will save allot more money now that they own 100%.
