I can list a few phones that have poor mini amplifier performance:

Pantech Discover, Pantech Flex, Alcatel one touch Idol. Most of these chinese-y phones except for some ZTE phones, they have good audio performance.

Some phones that are just so-so as music players:
HTC First, HTC Status, HTC Desire HD, Motorola Droid Ultra (I was expecting something better from this one).

Most Sony/Sony Ericsson Smartphones are really good performers (except for the ZL and Xperia U, they really lack volume)

I'm using my old Iphone 2g as a refference, so I'm not aiming "too" high when I use the word "good".
