Let Google block the YouTube app. It's not like there aren't thousands of other apps available that do exactly what the official YouTube app was doing that Google disliked.

There is no official Youtube app on Windows. It's made by Microsoft and it violates policies that Google has set up. Microsoft is only doing this because they want their customers to have an option instead of waiting for Google to build the official app.

This shows how MS is a marketing company, and is pretty incompetent when it comes to software.

Actually their 3rd party app offered a few features the standard app won't ever offer such as downloading videos for viewing later and blocking ads in videos. Google is blocking the app because it wasn't HTML 5 compliant. Microsoft is arguing this because neither the Android or iOS app are HTML compliant and they wanted to get a functional app out for the time being until they get the HTML application ready.

Google needs to stop being evil and allow the Windows Mobile users access to the YouTube app they've offered to their users as Google isn't even attempting in pushing out an app.

From my understanding is that all third party YouTube apps have to be HTML5 compliant. So Google needs to make a windows app already or either let Microsoft be the only non HTML5 compliant third party app.

How do they expect people to have an HTML 5 compliant app when Google themselves doesn't have an HTML 5 compliant YouTube app?

Good point and from previous experience native apps run a lot better than HTML apps to begin with. The reason why a lot of developers write natively rather than write with HTML. A few developers use HTML for cross platform support, and then go back and write native code for the platforms that produce enough money to justify it.

I don't think you understand the issue.....

Microsoft appears to be violating Google's terms of use on purpose, it's part of a strategy to piss Google off so much that Google decides to just make their own YouTube app already....

Indeed, last I read....Google had already agreed to do that....so I'm kind of confused now.... ๐Ÿคจ

Seems like Google is screwing with them. Read what I just posted and see what Google blocked their app for now. They followed all of their requests and released it. Now Google wants them to release it as an HTML-5 application and Microsoft is pissed because neither Android or iOS application is HTML-5.

I think Microsoft can do it if they really wanted to. Although yes I do see what you are referring to. Its pretty annoying. Damn Google. Just make the app already x).

I really wish Microsoft would catch up with the more important apps first. Their phone is all about socializing. Where are the rest of the social apps? x)
