And it looks like Google is also revoking the Android developer license from any Android developer who submits an app for Windows Phone.....

Google really is turning evil.....Google is becoming what Microsoft was back in the 'bad old days'

Dont get me wrong, I think the whole youtube app drama is bull, but what you're saying doesn't sound factual. Where did you see that?

It's a rumor currently circulating on several Android developers forums....

It may be true or it may not be true, but the mere fact that it is circulating among Android developers is a sign of how little trust people have for Google right now.

Never been pressured by Google to quit making apps for Windows phone.

(Though, there's a rumor that says that Riot Sr. works for Google)

(Edit: Yes, registered with both as a developer, I've not yet submitted an app for Microsoft under my company name, though)

I am an Android developer (registered, but never published an app) as well and that is how I heard the rumor....

I will soon have to release an app for WP. I've never gotten any direct profit from the Google play store. Some clients require an example of my (our) work, pushing me to publish at least one app.

Are you an independent developer, or are you part of a development team?

When I started as an independent developer I was always hunting for projects on odesk, elance, etc. The volume of projects per week grew as the number of clients. A friend of mine started helping me, and eventually we had to hire some other guys and form our software development team. I'm still working in the legal stuff to permanently establish our company, going through lots of bureaucracy, it sucks.

If what the rumor says is true, it sucks too.

I just signed up as an Android developer back when they offered the Nexus One only to developers....figured being a developer was a good deal, you get discounts and whatnot.....I hang around on developer forums and so forth....and maybe Android developers are worried about Google's recent behavior and what it could mean for their future....Google isn't being very 'open' right now
