Actually their 3rd party app offered a few features the standard app won't ever offer such as downloading videos for viewing later and blocking ads in videos. Google is blocking the app because it wasn't HTML 5 compliant. Microsoft is arguing this because neither the Android or iOS app are HTML compliant and they wanted to get a functional app out for the time being until they get the HTML application ready.

Google needs to stop being evil and allow the Windows Mobile users access to the YouTube app they've offered to their users as Google isn't even attempting in pushing out an app.
