The idea of using GPS to track your phone if lost or stolen is hardly some radical innovative idea that can be attributed to any one person or company...the instant they started adding GPS to phones pretty much everyone a brain thought 'oh that would be helpful if I could use that GPS to find my phone if it is lost or stolen'.....Android has had this functionality since day one...and there are numerous apps in the Google Play Store that do it as well, including some that you can actually install on your phone AFTER it is lost....there is one popular Android app that you can use to make the phone let out a high pitched scream if it is lost or stolen....the scream is emitted even if the volume is turned all the way down....

Can the iPhone do anything like that? Install tracking apps after it is already lost, and emit a high pitched scream even if the volume is all the way down?

The only thing new about this is that it is being standardized....it's not 'new' by any means....

For goodness sake, every smartphone on the planet has had this feature for years now....even Blackberry, and you know when a feature comes to Blackberry that it is everywhere because unfortunately Blackberry is usually the last place that features are added (sadly, although that's getting a little better)
