It's A Shame

A once great company, decided to follow Apple's status quo. Now they are met with stress and re-organization.

They should really listen to their long time supporters. They may not be in this position if they had.

Many complaints had been made by many toward the direction of eliminating removeable batteries. HTC claimed in order to meet the criteria of making the device slimmer in design, eliminating access to the battery allowed this to happen. However, when truth was told that Samsung was able to meet a slimmer design than the ONE and still retain access to the battery, HTC bluntly said that I and others are free to choose another company.

Myself, as well as four of my constituents, took them up on that offer. I can only imagine ...

I work in ATT customer service and I haven't recommended an HTC phone to a customer in a while. HTC used to be great, and I used to recommend them all the time. Now the question that I get from non Apple customers is, should I get that new HTC phone or a Galaxy...my response is always the Galaxy.

People think I talk through my arse. But I don't work in the wireless industry so I have nothing to lose or gain here on these sites. But, I need removable batteries. During the course of my 27 years using cell phones, I've been caught with my pants down far too many times with this battery crap.Batteries fail and they fail often. Most of the time it is after the manufactures warranty but before upgrade time. This renders the consumer to make a needless trip to the service center for a stupid battery. most tech geeks write this off as no big deal as they try to fix their own device. For mainstream consumers, This is a setback as far as evolving technology. High end phones be come useless due to failed battery? Even low end phones have remova...

No thank you I'll stick with my HTC ONE. It has been a great phone with great battery life. Its so fast and smooth. Not everyone needs a removeable battery. Stop trying to think that only what you want matters to everyone. It matters to just you.

It is proven fact that a lot of people don't care about removable batteries. The best selling phone is still the iPhone.

The HTC ONE is HTC's best selling phone to date.

---" It is proven fact that a lot of people don't care about removable batteries."---

Is it that they don't care, or is it that they accept it? Accepting is ok. Nothing wrong with that. This is why the iPhone carries well. But many credible poll results have also proved that "Given a choice"(This sets the tone in importance) of sealed or removable battery, most results have the percentile favorable to removable battery. Some polls for removable, crush the sealed battery want. In defense, I haven't heard anyone say they don't want a removable battery, they just simply say it doesn't bother them. This doesn't really settle the deal.

If it makes you feel better, it DOES bother me. It also bothers a lot of others as well. Reviewing this ...

Actually according to most polls only about 10 percent of the people polled even cared about having a removalable battery.

I care about removable batteries.

The main reason, battery issues are one of the most frequent issues with phones. Having a non-removable battery means only that it will be hella expensive to have the phone fixed, more than likely you'll end up getting another phone. So what's the benefit of having a "high-end" materials built device or a "solid" feel device if it's only going to last you for so short?
Instead of having a removable battery phone, which, if a problem exists you can just buy the battery and replace it yourself, not only if it fails, you may do it if you don't find the current battery juicy enough and spare paying the manufacturer for replacing the battery, plus the new battery cost.
