Capacity shall be a non-issue as well. In rural areas, population is low and has coverage also by Verizon subs and some rural carriers.

Metropolitan areas conversely covered by up to 8 carriers in many cities, also splits up pops. This ultimately lightens the load on the spectrum of AT&T and Verizon. Not to mention has 3G is phased out over the next 4 years, this will free up even more spectrum for the respective carriers.

These larger carries conjure up needy excuses for spectrum as though they feel they are the only one providing service for the entire population.

As Rich had explained in a nice manner, AT&T needs to worry more about using the nationwide spectrum holdings they already have rather than trying to hold spectrum as ransom to monopolize or duopolize together with VZW.
