Wow...just wow. This is obviously very, very far from the truth. It won't hurt them at all. Every operator offers a huge, huge selection of phones. Purchase a different one. Variety is the spice of life, and the iPhone has been sitting on the shelf too long.

Besides, I would think the logical part of subsidizing with a manufacturer is acknowledging that you run the risk of that manufacturer failing... eg. AT&T should acknowledge that they took a risk in subsidized investments, and in this case there was a fall through on the product and they will suffer some losses. And really, we all kind of expect the 4S to be at the 4's price point by the end of fall anyway, so it's not as though there's an extraordinary loss on either end- what with the likely release of another flagship from Apple, the price of current Apple products should subsequently fall, just as they always have. Since software updates can still be provided to the phones and there's enough stock to get to the point where the 4...
