Comments re Call Quality

My phone calls are exactly the same as they were with the regular S4 -- very good. I have had a number of calls and always check new phones by leaving voice messages for myself with the phone. It sounded clear and almost like a landline. On my end calls are very clear and I had to turn down the volume from max because it was too loud. Your test model must have had a problem.

I had problems with my mic, earpiece and speaker. Voice dictation wasn't working and people were complaining that I sounded robotic. I then realized that there was water stuck in the microphone and earpiece from when I had it in the bath. Simple fix, make sure you blow on the earpiece, speaker and mic after using it around water 🙂

I put my hands on one of these phones already. I partially agree with you, but not completely.
I made a few regular phone calls and they weren't bad at all, but were far from stellar.

Eric is right when he says that the volume of the earpiece is a bit insufficient, it is not even close to offer the volume and quality of the regular S4 (even call quality on the S3 is quite better)

I really like this phone. One of the reasons for me to stay away from the GS4 is the hardware, but this phone feels quite solid, a lot better actually. And is not much bigger.

The sound was a bit tinney. U can feel the vibrations on the back cover, when playing a game. I removed cover, took a business card, tore bout 1/3 off short end of card & put on battery so edges of card did not touch or interfer with waterproofing gasket, snapped cover closed tightly & problem solved. Apparently gasket caused odd sound vibrations.

Weird...On PhoneArena, they said:

"Whoa! The earpiece on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active surely has to be one of the loudest we've tested recently. Even with its volume turned down, it delivers clear and natural voice tones."

So it sounds...like there are differences between individual phones....hopefully those are early builds with the inconsistencies and the release version is better.
